You can’t afford to skip passports at home as it is the only way you can go far with. Besides, don’t forget to carry photocopies of it. Make sure you have packed your international driving license, discount cards, travel insurance documents, and other paper works along with photocopies. Keep photocopies in separate bags so that you have inconvenience if you lost bag with original documents.

Right Outfits:

By Islamic code, women should wear black abayas and wear a headscarf while in public. Men are not allowed to wear shorts. However, these rules are not strict in cities like Jeddah. But they are more imposed in conservative areas and the pilgrimage cities of Madinah and Mecca.

Therefore, make sure to wear appropriate clothes on your trip to Jeddah or another city in Saudi Arabia. Men can wear Thawb that is an Arab outfit, generally with a long sleeve and coming down to the ankle. This way, it covers the whole body.

Although it is ankle-length, it is still very comfortable to wear as it is loose to support the airflow underneath and it also helps you get fit into the local culture with outfits.

Women can wear an Abaya that is also a long-sleeve and ankle-length garment. In conservative places, abayas are worn in Black and with a headscarf covering the whole hair. In less conservative areas, you may get around the Abaya and wear other Western outfits as long as they are decent and covering the body. Don’t wear anything that reveals or highlights your “curves”.

Besides, you should not wear clothes with offensive slogans, language, and imagery

Also, pack your walking shoes as you have to walk for a long in Saudi Arabia, whether in the cities or while visiting a tourist attraction.

To conclude, all you need to wear decent clothes while in public places in Jeddah.

Comfortable Shoes:

When in Jeddah or any Saudi Arabian city, expect a good deal of walking. Although the city has several transportation options, many of the tourist attractions can only be accessed on foot. Therefore, make sure to pack a pair of athletic shoes.

Sunscreen, Sunglasses, and Hats:

If you don’t want to be troubled by the hot and humid weather of Jeddah, make sure to pack sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. However, the temperature dips considerably at night, so make sure to pack a jacket and gloves.

So these are some packing essentials you should have while visiting Jeddah.
